The Look Of Leadership (Series) By Gary Patterson

THE LOOK OF LEADERSHIP

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones. Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the first fruits of all your increase; So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine." (Proverbs 3:5-10)

Table Of Contents:
Introduction
The Look Of Faith (5)
The Look Of Submission(6)
The Look Of Humility (7)
The Look Of Purity (7b)
The Look Of Responsibility (8-10)
Conclusion

Introduction: What does a Christian leader look like? Maybe a better question is: What are the characteristics of a true Christian leader? In what Solomon writes in our text, we find what could be the best criteria for what Christian leadership looks like. Of course when we speak of 'Christian leadership" we are looking at those who show forth the characteristics of our Lord Jesus Christ, as they lead others in the path of the Christian journey, and Christian service. At the top of this post-article, we find from Solomon's writing some very good characteristics of a Christian leader.

The Beauty Of Brokenness (By Gary Patterson)

THE BEAUTY OF BROKENNESS

The title of this post-article seems to be a contradiction in terms. How can there be beauty in brokenness? How can being broken be a beautiful thing? How can it ever be a good thing? The Psalmist in the text of Psalm 147:1-6 explains how being broken can be a beautiful thing. When we think about the Lord Jesus, being the one who heals us from our brokenness, it becomes a beautiful thing to think about in how He can take the pieces of our lives and put them back together again. He heals us in various ways. Maybe not in the ways that we think are significant, but in the ways that The Lord knows is best for us. We hope this post-article will be an encouragement to those who are going through a time of brokenness!

Is Jesus Lord And Christ? (By Gary Patterson)

Is Jesus Lord And Christ?
By Gary Patterson

What is going on in churches today? Just last night I was told of a church that was performing immoral acts during what was to be a "revival meeting." In this post-article I ask the question: "Is Jesus Our Lord And Christ?" As Christians who are to make up the body of Christ, we are to be submitted to Jesus Christ. He is to be our Savior, and Lord of our lives. We are to obey the Word of God, and live our lives in accordance with the teachings of Jesus. And He has called His church to be involved in evangelism, and Christian nuture. It is never to be about us, but it is to be totally about Jesus Christ. As our text says: "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ." (Acts 2:36). Peter preached this stirring sermon on the day of Pentecost, making the Jewish people aware of their responsibility concerning Jesus Christ. We need to remind ourselves, and other Christians, of our responsibilty concerning Jesus. He is to be accepted as Savior, He is to respected as Lord of our lives, and the message concerning Him, needs to be shared, in every opportunity that comes our way!
